Senior-Level Civil Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced senior-level Civil Engineer / Project Manager for our office in St. Albans, VT. Ruggiano Engineering was established in 2004 and is an established leader in the planning, design, and engineering of the infrastructure necessary to meet a community’s needs.  We are seeking a Civil Engineer who shares our passion for high-quality design, client loyalty, and thrives in a fast-paced work environment.  We offer a competitive salary with benefits including paid sick and vacation time, paid holidays, Simple IRA retirement plan, and more. Applicants should have a minimum of 6 years practical and proven experience in residential, commercial, industrial, and/or municipal site design and permitting in Vermont.  PE licensure is a requirement. Additional certifications such as Water or Wastewater Operator is a plus.  Responsibilities include the following: client relations, initial project acquisition/investigation, full-service engineering and design capabilities, complete management of project from planning to design and through permitting, supervision of support staff, scheduling of all work to meet deadlines, and tracking of budgets.

Successful candidates must have excellent verbal and written skills, be comfortable with client-facing discussions, company personnel, and agencies, and have the ability to create and present strong presentations at public hearings and meetings.  Experience in roadway and transportation design, utility design (water and sewer), general public works and civil infrastructure projects, preparation of plans and specifications, and construction administration is a requirement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Preparation of project plans and specifications
  • Interaction with clients, public, and agencies as required
  • Preparation of written reports and project documents
  • Construction administration and oversight of field inspection tasks
  • Assist project engineers and managers

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or similar
  • Minimum 6 years prior work experience, preferably for a civil engineering firm in Vermont
  • Prior experience using AutoCAD
