Stormwater
management can be one of
the most challenging aspects of a commercial or industrial project.
The permitting regulations are in constant flux, and most projects
require multiple phases of stormwater permitting including erosion and sediment control during construction
as well as for the final system.
Stormwater design is one
of Ruggiano Engineering’s
specialties. Thanks to
our experienced staff,
we are able to lay the
groundwork for success
from conception to project
completion for all sizes
of systems. We use HydroCAD
and other computer models,
and our own extensive experience,
insight, and creativity
to design stormwater systems
in harmony with the site and the natural
environment. Our goal:
to design modern systems
that become a working landscape, meet state and federal water quality standards, and minimize a project's impact on the environment. In fact,
many of our stormwater
systems improve a site’s
stormwater runoff.
From small to large scale stormwater design,
we can develop a comprehensive sediment and pollutant
loading analysis, map peak
discharge and runoff, model
surface profiles and runoff
routing, and evaluate floodplains
and storm sewer capacity.
These analyses are critical
where nearby streams and
watersheds are already
overloaded or classified
as impaired.
We strive for balance,
incorporating your preferences
with natural features of
the landscape, using such treatment options as ponds,
sand filters, cyclone chambers,
and grass swales that become
organic features of the
site. Integrating these
cutting-edge techniques
in our St. Albans WalMart
proposal earned it recognition
by State regulators as
a “state-of-the-art system”.
